Sleep and recovery: more than counting hours.

Healthy sleep is more than a number on a smartwatch. Duration, quality, regularity, daytime activity and individual symptoms need to be considered together.

Sleep needs change

Sleep needs vary between people and across the lifespan. Reference ranges are useful, but persistent sleep problems or marked daytime sleepiness deserve professional assessment.

Tracking is a signal, not a diagnosis

Wearables can show trends. Individual scores and estimated sleep stages should not be treated as medical diagnoses.

Recovery is broader than sleep

Workload, movement, stress, nutrition, alcohol, medicines and health conditions can all influence sleep and recovery.
